This page holds every agreement between you and GapDigest, the rank tracking service at gapdigest.com. It covers the app, the Monday digest, and the free competitor keyword tool.

Terms of service

By creating an account or using the free tool, you agree to these terms. If you use GapDigest for a company, you agree on its behalf and confirm you may do so.

Acceptable use

Use GapDigest to track sites and keywords for your own work or your clients' work. Don't call the free tool or the app with automated scripts, don't share one account between people who should each have their own, and don't try to get around plan limits or the free tool's daily limit. Don't use the service to break the law or to harm someone else's site.

Your account

You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password and any API key secure. Tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You must be at least 18 to open one.

Rank data

Rankings, search volumes, and competitor keywords come from third-party search data and show the results at the time of each check. Search results change often and differ by location and device, so treat every number as an estimate. GapDigest doesn't promise a keyword will rank or that a competitor's keywords are complete.

Your content

The domains, keywords, and competitors you add stay yours. You give GapDigest permission to store and process them only to run the service for you.

Availability and changes to the service

GapDigest aims to check every keyword once a day, but a check can be late or missed when a search data source or the service itself is down. Features can be added, changed, or removed. When a change removes something you pay for, you'll hear about it by email before it happens.

Termination

You can close your account at any time from the app, or by opening a support request. GapDigest can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after a warning where that's practical. When an account closes, its sites, keywords, and rank history are deleted within 30 days.

Warranty disclaimer

GapDigest is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of data. Some places don't allow this exclusion, so it may not apply to you in full.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, GapDigest isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost traffic, or lost rankings, that comes from using or being unable to use the service. GapDigest's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting a formal dispute, contact GapDigest through a support request so the problem can be resolved directly.

Changes to these terms

These terms can change. The date at the top of this page shows the most recent change, and a change that matters to you is announced by email before it takes effect. Using the service after that date means you accept the new terms.

Privacy policy

This section describes what data GapDigest collects, how GapDigest uses it, who else processes it, and how you can have it deleted.

Data GapDigest collects

• Account data: your email address, name, and password hash, or the account details a sign-in provider shares when you continue with one.
• Tracking data: the domains, keywords, and competitor domains you add, and the daily rank results stored for them.
• Free competitor keyword tool: the two domains you enter. The result for a pair of domains is kept for up to 7 days, and checks are counted per IP address to apply the daily limit.
• Signup source: the page that referred you and any campaign tags in the link you signed up from.
• Billing data: your plan and subscription status. GapDigest never receives your card details.
• Usage data: product events such as signing up, adding a site, or changing plans, linked to your account ID, and standard server logs with your IP address.

How GapDigest uses it

To run the service: to check rankings, build the Monday digest, send account and digest emails, apply plan limits, answer support requests, keep the service secure, and understand which pages bring new users. GapDigest doesn't sell your data and doesn't use it for advertising.

Who processes it

• Polar processes payments as the merchant of record and receives what you enter at checkout.
• A transactional email provider delivers account emails and the digest, and receives your email address and the email content.
• A search data provider returns rankings and keyword data, and receives the domains and keywords checked for you, but nothing that identifies you.
• A product analytics provider receives product events linked to your account ID.
• Hosting providers run the app and store its database and backups.

Each provider processes data only to provide its service to GapDigest.

How long it's kept

Account and tracking data stay for as long as your account is open. When you delete a site, its keywords and rank history go with it. When your account closes, the rest is deleted within 30 days, except billing records, which are kept as long as tax law requires.

Cookies

The app uses a cookie to keep you signed in and stores your theme choice in your browser. Neither is used for tracking across other sites.

Your choices

You can delete a site and its keywords from the app at any time, and the Monday digest and notification emails each have a link to stop them. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or have your account deleted, open a support request from the app. Requests are answered within 30 days.

Payment terms

These terms apply when you subscribe to a paid plan.

Plans and renewal

Paid plans bill in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Prices are shown on the pricing page in US dollars, before any tax that applies where you are.

Merchant of record

Polar sells GapDigest subscriptions as the merchant of record. Polar processes your payment, collects any sales tax or VAT, issues your receipt, and appears on your card statement. GapDigest never receives your card details.

Cancellation

You can cancel from the billing page at any time. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then drops to the Free plan. Your data stays, and anything over the Free plan's limits pauses until you upgrade again or remove it.

Refunds

GapDigest has a Free plan with no time limit, so you can try the product for as long as you like before paying. Because of that, payments aren't refunded. The one exception is a genuine case where you paid but never used the paid plan, such as never adding a site or keyword beyond the Free plan's limits. Ask through a support request within 30 days of the payment, and GapDigest will look at the account's usage and refund the payment when there was none. Renewals aren't refunded, so cancel before the renewal date if you don't want another period.

Failed payments and price changes

When a renewal payment fails, you'll get an email and a few days to update your card before the plan drops to Free. A price change is announced by email at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal.
