Checked every day, never averaged
Search Console reports an average position across a date range, for your site only. GapDigest searches Google for each of your keywords once a day, at 03:00 UTC, from the country and device you set for the site, and stores where your page landed. A drop on Tuesday shows up on Tuesday.
The daily check reads Google's top 10. Past that, the table shows>10, so a post on page two appears once it reaches page one.

How to read Monday's email
The digest is plain text, one finding per line, so it reads fine on a phone. Here is what each line means and what site owners usually do about it.
- campfireeats.com now outranks you on: cold soak oats (you 6, them 2)
- A competitor passed you on a keyword you track. Open both pages side by side. Their post is usually newer, longer, or answers the question sooner.
- Declined: cold soak oats (3 → 6).
- You slipped, with or without a competitor passing you. One bad week is noise. Two in a row is worth a look.
- Improved: dehydrated chili recipe (9 → 4).
- Something you changed worked, or a competitor dropped. Check the dates of your last edits before you credit the update.
- campfireeats.com ranks for keywords you don't: no cook backpacking meals (2400/mo); …
- Up to 10 keywords per competitor where they rank and you have no page at all. These are your next posts, with the monthly searches next to each.
Before you sign up
I already have Search Console. What does this add?
Search Console shows your own site only, with an average position over the dates you pick, and only for searches where you already appear. GapDigest records your exact position for each keyword every day, and it shows what your competitors rank for, including keywords you have never appeared for.
Ahrefs and Semrush show competitor keywords too. Why pay them $129 or more?
Most of what those suites cost pays for a backlink index, site audits, and a keyword research database. If you open them to check rankings and to see which keywords a competitor has that you don't, GapDigest does those two jobs for $19, and it emails the findings so there is no report to remember to run. Ahrefs Starter is $29 but tracks 50 keywords and has no competitor analysis; that starts on Lite at $129.
What does GapDigest not do?
It has no backlink index, site audit, or keyword research database, and it tracks Google's top 10 only. If you need those, a suite such as Ahrefs or Semrush is the better fit. GapDigest is for site owners who mostly open those tools to check rankings and competitors.
Where does the data come from?
Each keyword is checked once a day with a live Google search for the country and device you set on the site. Competitor keywords come from an index of Google's ranking pages. The digest is built from the stored results, so the numbers in the email match the numbers in the app.
Do I need a credit card for the free plan?
No. The free plan tracks 10 keywords on one site against one competitor, sends the Monday digest, and has no time limit. Upgrade from inside the app when you need more keywords.
SERPROBOT starts at $4.99. Why is this $19?
SERPROBOT charges $4.99 a month for every 75 keywords, so 200 keywords costs about $15 there, and you get positions only. GapDigest's $19 covers 200 keywords and adds the Monday list of keywords your competitors rank for and you don't. Elsewhere, competitor keyword gaps come with bigger plans: Wincher includes them from its $319 Professional plan, and suites such as SE Ranking start at $129.
Start with the free rank tracker
Free rank tracking for 10 keywords against one competitor, with no card and no time limit. Paste the keywords you care about most and name the site you keep losing to. Your first report arrives as soon as the first check finishes, with where you rank today and the keywords that competitor has that you don't. The Monday digests show what moved from there.
